Can you see it? What is the real intention of this painting? 
 
On the surface this painting is a woman in her barn at a manger. Blissful in her environment with creatures that understand her. Though, it is about something deeper. It is the emotional experience she keeps coming back to. The core intensity against which she measures everything else. A feeling of safety. Of belonging. Of being understood. A safe haven that became her compass. Because sometimes, home isn't a place. It's a feeling we spend our lives trying to find again.
