Cloud Memory
This piece comes from an earlier stage in my exploration of emotion and perception. The soft pink atmosphere and dissolving clouds were an attempt to capture a feeling that existed somewhere between memory, peace, and distance.
Looking back, I see it as part of the beginning of my search for how emotion changes the way we experience the world around us.
In the Presence of Giants
The feeling of standing before something immeasurably larger than yourself. The small figure of the girl contrasts against the immense scale of the whale, creating a quiet balance between fear, wonder, isolation, and awe. Rather than feeling threatening, the whale becomes symbolic of the unknown, the emotional weight we carry, or the vastness of life itself.
The painting is meant to capture the moment where overwhelm transforms into reflection, and where something enormous begins to feel strangely intimate and deeply human.
